Knauff Insurance founder Bill Knauff launched his career in 1960 as an agent for a large insurance company. It didn't take long for him to realize the limitations of representing only one company, and he was frustrated in his quest to find the best possible product to suit each client. Bill became an independent agent, and Knauff Insurance was born in 1969.

Then and now, the agency's core strength is delivering personal service from trusted advisors. Our full-service commercial brokerage has access to virtually every insurance and non-insurance product available in the marketplace. This allows us to provide the most comprehensive, financially-sound and economically-priced solutions for our clients' needs.

Now led by Skip Knauff, Bill's son, our agency continues a long tradition of excellence. Knauff Insurance has emerged as one of the largest regional insurance agencies in the Carolinas, earning the designation of a "premier" broker by our carriers. As an indication of our success, clients have won industry awards for safety due to the combined services of our carriers and our services. Knauff Insurance has consistently maintained a 99% client retention ratio through the decades-a rare industry standard and proof that our relationships work to everyone's benefit.
